Laminate floor fitting

Laminate offers a choice of wood-effect finishes for living spaces. We review the chosen product, room layout and existing base, then plan the laying direction, joins and edge details. Underlay and expansion allowances follow the flooring manufacturer’s requirements.

Vinyl flooring installation

Vinyl systems differ: click-fit planks and adhesive-fixed products do not use the same installation method. Send the product name or link before ordering so we can confirm suitability, preparation and the installation scope for your rooms.

Preparation before the first board is laid

We assess the existing covering, the condition and level of the base, moisture concerns and the finished floor height. Removal of old flooring, repairs or levelling can be separate parts of the job. These are agreed in the quotation, rather than assuming every room is ready for fitting.

Tell us about underfloor heating and apartment management requirements before choosing the flooring. The product and installation system need to suit those conditions. We follow the selected manufacturer’s guidance instead of using one underlay or method for every floor.

Skirting, thresholds and finishing

The edges make a difference to the finished room. We discuss whether existing skirting stays or is replaced, how doorways meet adjacent floors and which trims are needed. Door clearance and transitions are checked as part of the plan. Include any painting or skirting finishing you want in the agreed scope.

What affects flooring installation costs in Dublin?

The room area, floor type, layout, condition of the base, old-floor removal and finishing details all influence the estimate. A clear rectangular room and a hallway with several doorways require different cutting and finishing work. Furniture and access also affect how the work can be organised.

Send room dimensions, photos of the current floor, your location and the flooring product if already selected. We confirm what the estimate includes, including whether materials are supplied by you or included in the quote.

1. Share your rooms

Send photos and approximate measurements on WhatsApp. Mention which rooms need to stay accessible.

2. Agree the scope

We review preparation, fitting and finishing, then confirm the estimate and any further assessment needed.

3. Plan installation

We agree a date, room clearance and access, then complete the agreed work and review the finish with you.

Before you book a floor fitter

Can you fit flooring I have already purchased?

Send the product name, fitting instructions and room details so we can check suitability and estimate the installation work. Confirm pack quantities and finishing accessories before the appointment.

Can flooring be fitted over existing tiles?

That depends on the selected flooring system and whether the existing base is sound, dry and sufficiently level. Finished floor height also matters. We assess the base before confirming the method.

Is every laminate or vinyl floor suitable for a bathroom?

No. Suitability depends on the specific product and its installation requirements. Check the manufacturer’s guidance for the intended room before buying.

Are skirting boards included?

Skirting, trims, thresholds and any finishing or painting are listed in the agreed scope. Tell us whether you want to retain or replace existing skirting.
